Emergency Services were working at the scene of a fiery crash that closed State Highway One lanes near Hampton Downs.
No-one was seriously injured in the crash on Sunday, but the vehicle caught fire after the crash.
Northbound lanes of the Waikato Expressway were closed, while the crashed vehicle and response teams blocked the road, but by 1pm, NZ Transport Agency said one northbound lane had re-opened.
The affected section was north of the Hampton Downs on-ramp.
Drivers should allow extra time for travelling through the area and follow instructions of emergency services at the scene.
