Corrections has confirmed there will be internal misconduct charges following a fire in a central Auckland prison cell.
Staff at the Mt Eden Corrections Facility were alerted to a small fire Tuesday afternoon which they say was started by two prisoners.
Three fire trucks responded but the fire had already been extinguished by the time they arrived.
There were no injuries and the prison is operating as usual.
