A firefighter has been injured after being hit by a vehicle while attending a callout near the Otago town of Lawrence.
They were hit by the vehicle about 10.15am today while assisting someone who was injured after falling from a ladder at a Waitahuna Gully Road property.
The firefighter was flown to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries.
The person injured in the fall was also flown to hospital.
Fire and Emergency deputy national commander Brendan Nally said the firefighter was being supported by staff and family.
"The firefighter's brigade colleagues are also being supported by the Fire and Emergency peer support team and the local group manager," he said.
