Six-month baby found with injuries still in critical condition

A six-month-old baby remains in a critical condition, three days after he was admitted to hospital.

Police earlier said an investigation was under way after the baby was found with critical injuries at a property on Seabury Ave, Foxton Beach about 5.30am on Sunday.

The baby was initially transported to Palmerston North Hospital before being airlifted to Starship Hospital.

On Wednesday, a police spokesperson said the baby remained in a critical condition at Starship.

A scene examination of the Foxton Beach home had been completed.

Central District investigation manager Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Deegan earlier said police were working to establish how the baby boy came to be injured.
