NZs most remote place

From The Panel, 4:27 pm on 18 July 2018

New Zealand's remotest location doesn't have a name. It's in the Fiordland National Park. It's 30km from the nearest DOC hut, south of Doubtful Sound, and at the south end of a bay which the Coal River empties into.

After the discussion we were emailed these pictures from a listener. Nick says these images from 1986 show geological fieldwork in southern Fiordland around the head of the Long Burn.  Even though it was early summer, it snowed!
