Workers on a road project north of Auckland have unearthed an unfinished Maori waka; Supporters of Maori wards marched through Whakatane's main street this week, calling for the council to introduce the wards in the district; Victoria University of Wellington is looking to shorten its name to University of Wellington, but some argue this is a chance to better incorporate te reo into the name; Schools that have tackled unconscious bias among their teachers say it has a big impact on Maori students' achievement and Maori academic, author and activist Professor Ngahuia Te Awekotuku is given the title of Emeritus Professor by the University of Waikato.
