Power, food and rents push inflation up

Inflation has edged to its highest level in a year on the back of rising rents, food prices, and power charges.

Stats NZ says the consumer price index rose zero-point-five percent in the three months ended June, pushing the annual rate to 2.7 percent from 2.5 percent.

The numbers were just below expectations.
