Melburnians face another two weeks in lockdown, with officials saying the city is teetering on "the brink" of losing control of the Delta outbreak.
A raft of new restrictions came into effect at midnight, including a nightly curfew, closing playgrounds, and banning people from taking off their masks to drink alcohol.
It's hoped the strengthened measures will keep the state from going over the tipping point like New South Wales, which yesterday reported record-high cases and deaths.
