Mapuna visits Pūrangakura in Tamaki Makaurau. Its kaupapa centres around the 'transformative power of research that supports Māori communities in defining and achieving their aspirations.' Jacqueline Paul is one of Pūrangakura's kaimahi but also shares her time between here and the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States where she's pursuing her doctorate which includes the study of indigenous sovereignty and self determination in land and housing.
