St John is paying tribute to one of its ambulance officers, killed in a head on collision in Cambridge yesterday.
The driver of the other car also died, on a stretch of State Highway 1.
Waka Kotahi says safety improvements along the road are happening, but they're waiting for funding for an alternative route.
