Lauren Crimp
Lauren Crimp is a reporter based in RNZ's Wellington newsroom, with a focus on reporting on housing – particularly social and emergency housing, and homelessness.
Her journalism career began at RNZ in 2022, reporting on a range of topics. In February 2023 she travelled to Hawke’s Bay to cover Cyclone Gabrielle, and soon after took up a secondment for the rest of the year, moving to Napier to continue coverage of the recovery.
She returned to the Wellington newsroom at the beginning of 2024. In 2025, Lauren was finalist in the 'Best New Talent' category at the NZ Radio Awards.
Lauren is an alternate presenter for Midday Report and will co-host the summer edition of Morning Report alongside Melissa Chan-Green for two weeks in January 2026.
