Tim Masiu, who was Communications Minister in the outgoing Papua New Guinea Government, wants to see tighter control of the Electoral Commission and scrutiny of candidates.
Mr Masiu has just won back his South Bougainville seat, one of nine PANGU Party members returned so far.
Don Wiseman asked him about the violence that has gone down across the country in recent days and what can be done about it.
But they began by talking about the South Bougainville win.
