League
Australia won all four of the Prime Minister's XIII league matches in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The Australian men's 13 defeated PNG 28-10, while the Australian women's team put 50 points on their PNG counterparts and kept them scoreless.
In the game between the Junior Kumuls and the Australian Schoolboys, the Aussies won 22-14.
The Australian Schoolgirls were also too good for the Junior Orchids, winning 20 -12.
Rugby
Pacific rugby unions are yet to reveal their position on the freshly announced R-360 rugby union competition.
The competition is being promoted by former England international Mike Tindall.
Tier one countries including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland and England have stated they will not select players for international duties if they take up contracts with the new competition.
Fiji, Samoa and Tonga rugby unions have yet to indicate where they stand.
RNZ Pacific has reached out to the unions.
R360 is planned to launch next year.
League/netball
The Tonga rugby league side is arriving in Nuku'alofa on Tuesday afternoon, to prepare for the upcoming Pacific Championships series.
Tonga Rugby League Chairman Lord Fakafanua says the team will be in the Kingdom until they depart for Brisbane to meet Toa Samoa in their opening game on October 26th.
Meanwhile, local fans will also have the chance to watch the Tongan Tala netball team at home when they play an Australian selection side in Nuku'alofa later this month.
Cricket
Papua New Guinea's women's cricket team, the Lewas, are hosting a women's one-day international (ODI) series this week in Port Moresby.
They are playing the United Arab Emirates women's team in the 50-over format at Amini Park.
Cricket PNG said the series marks a significant moment for women's cricket in the country and across the East Asia Pacific region, as both teams continue to build their ODI experience at the international level.
Triathlon
Cook Islands triathlete Maya Postrzygacz has been recognised with Victoria University of Wellington's Blues Award.
The annual awards date back 123 years, and celebrate students who achieve outstanding sporting success while maintaining strong academic performance.
Cook Islands News reported Postrzygacz hails from the village of Tupapa.
She is set to represent the Cook Islands in the Olympic-distance event (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) at the World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong, Australia, on Sunday.
She also competes in sailing.
