What I cover: I focus on a mixed bag of topics from fashion to parenting to entertainment to mental and physical wellness.
My background: I cut my journalism teeth in the gritty world of New York City news reporting at one of the city’s first digital-only media startups. My beat included crime, business, politics, fashion and those quirky stories that make New York New York. It was a role that spanned reporting, writing, photo, video and news presenting. In those five years, I won two awards: a Deadline Club Award with our breaking news team and a Front Page Award for my fashion coverage.
In a push to cover more national and international stories, I became a freelance journalist for publications such as the New York Times, VICE, the Guardian and the BBC. I pitched stories that took me across the US, the Australian outback and Fiji.
Eventually, I found my way to New Zealand where I covered national and lifestyle news for the New York Times, the Guardian and Stuff before joining RNZ in 2024.
