What I cover: I am a senior reporter in the news team, based in Wellington. I cover a range of topics, with a particular focus on environmental issues, locally and nationally.
My background: I joined RNZ as a senior reporter in October 2022. I was on the ground during Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, providing live updates from Tai Rāwhiti where communication infrastructure was badly damaged and road access limited. After nearly a year reporting on the recovery, I returned to Wellington to pick up the environment round, tackling topics such as conservation, pest control and the introduction of the Fast-track Approvals Bill. I've covered job cuts at government agencies, the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care, and high profile court cases including the Julia DeLuney trial and Gail Maney's successful appeal. I was named Best New Talent - Journalist at in the 2025 NZ Radio Awards. Before joining RNZ I worked as a reporter at The Post, with a focus on the environment, science and transport.
